Ideal Supports Variety Bash 2016

Nearly 1 in 3 Kiwi kids live in deprivation. Variety works to help give all Kiwi kids the good start in life they deserve. They help New Zealand’s sick, disabled and disadvantaged children reach their full potential. Variety distribute funds to children in need of basic necessities, medical equipment, life changing mobility needs and essential learning opportunities.

The money for this all needs to be fundraised by volunteers.

MARCH 11-18 Variety Bash

At the heart of Variety’s fundraising efforts is the unique Variety Bash – an eccentric car rally which travels hundreds of kilometres during one week in March each year fundraising for Kiwi kids, distributing grants, entertaining children and telling the Variety story. It’s a mad-cap adventure full of unique vehicles, larger-than-life characters and heart-felt philanthropy.
Their visits to primary schools are a hugely exciting event. A lot of the kids at these schools do not get much in the way of gifts and when the Variety Bash hands out giveaways their faces are aglow with delight. Things we take for granted that our kids get as a matter of course; many of these children don’t receive.
This year Ideal donated coloured pencils and with Marley’s joint support cooler lunch bags, which were received with huge smiles of delight.

The Variety Bash has covered both the North Island and the South Island. Some Branches around the country had an unexpected dousing by a passing fire engine – the Variety Bash saying “Thanks for the Support!”
