Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand

Earlier this month, our senior leadership team had the privilege of supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand during their Family Dinner Night at Auckland Domain House. From prepping ingredients to serving meals, the kitchen was filled with energy, teamwork, and plenty of heart as the team cooked for families staying close to their children in hospital. Sharing a warm meal and seeing the smiles, gratitude, and moments of connection around the dinner table was a meaningful reminder of the difference small acts of kindness can make during challenging times. A heartfelt thank you to Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand for the incredible support they provide to families across New Zealand every day.

North Shore Music Theatre

North Shore Music Theatre reached out to the Ideal Foundation for their upcoming youth production of FAME Jr., to be staged in our Black Box Theatre. FAME Jr. is a high-energy musical following a diverse group of students at New York City’s High School for the Performing Arts as they navigate ambition, identity, perseverance, and the challenges of pursuing creative dreams. Adapted specifically for young performers, the show provides a dynamic and meaningful platform for local youth aged 10–18 to develop their performance, teamwork, and technical theatre skills in a structured, high-quality production environment. As a fully volunteer-run organisation, all funds raised go directly into delivering accessible community theatre. While the cast and crew donate their time, essential costs remain for lighting, sound, set construction materials, venue operations, costumes, and licensing. Youth theatre requires particular care to ensure a safe, supportive, and professionally delivered experience. Support from the Ideal Foundation will directly contribute to these technical and production requirements, helping them maintain strong production standards while keeping participation and ticket prices affordable for families and local schools. Without community sponsorship, those costs would either fall more heavily on families or limit the scale and quality of opportunities available to young performers.

Crafting Threads of Aroha

Crafting Threads of Aroha is a 100% volunteer organisation that operates in the Wellington Region. There is an increasing need for clothing, the organisation uses donations of yarn and fabric to support the vulnerable families in their communities. They also repurpose new clothing that comes from corporates who change brand and need the logos covered over and removed. Last financial year Crafting Threads of Aroha gave out 6,620 items, and already 4,532 items in the first 6 months of this financial year. They estimated that last year their crafters spent over 58,000 hours crafting these items to the equivalent of a value of $1.6 million (and doesn't include the costs of materials). The Ideal Foundation donation will be able to cover the cost of enough soft machine washable wool to make about 200 cardigans, vests, and bootees for babies.
